Alexis Rose is a data privacy and compliance attorney who advises clients in a wide variety of industries with a focus on healthcare compliance and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). Alexis works with clients to assess the applicability of HIPAA to their organization and builds HIPAA-compliant data privacy and security programs. She also works with clients that have been victims of a data breach and advises them on HIPAA and state reporting obligations.
Alexis advises clients on current and emerging state privacy, security, and breach notification laws. She helps organizations across a variety of industries assess the applicability of data privacy laws and build comprehensive data privacy and security programs based on the organization’s needs and risks.
Before joining Octillo, Alexis worked with hospitals and healthcare providers to evaluate their compliance programs and to design and implement compliance programs. She has advised clients on reporting and breach notification and has assisted clients with HIPAA risk assessments to ensure compliance with the terms of Office for Civil Rights resolution agreements.
Alexis served as a Legal and Policy Intern for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights. She also served as a Judicial Intern for Special Master Mindy Michaels Roth in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and as a Legal Intern for the Department of Health for the District of Columbia.
