ABA Names Jordan L. Fischer to ‘On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers’ List

We are pleased to announce that the American Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division has named Octillo Member and Global Compliance and Advisory Services Team Lead, Jordan L. Fischer Esq., to its 2022 class of “On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers.”

“On the Rise” is an annual list featuring ABA members who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, innovation, vision, leadership, and legal and community service. In recognizing Ms. Fischer, the ABA acknowledged her global perspective in her representation of clients across a wide variety of industries, her thought leadership in the industry, and her contribution to the evolving legal data privacy, security, and technology landscape.

At Octillo, Ms. Fischer leads the Compliance and Advisory Team where she represents clients in cross-border data management, creating cost-effective and business-oriented approaches to cybersecurity, data privacy, and technology compliance. She has extensive experience representing clients in matters where technology and the law intersect, evaluating legal and business opportunities and risk and providing public and private sector clients with critical data privacy and cybersecurity assessments and strategy.

Ms. Fischer practices in many jurisdictions throughout the United States in both state and federal courts, as well as internationally in both Europe and Asia. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM). A born educator and leader, Ms. Fischer is a Lecturer in Cybersecurity at the University of California, Berkeley, and a Professor of Law at the Thomas R. Kline School of Law. She is also the Director of the Kline School of Law’s Center for Law and Transformational Technology.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Fischer is active in bar leadership and in the communities she serves. She is an American Bar Association 2020-2022 Business Law Fellow and host of the American Bar Association’s podcast: To the Extent That, the New Frontier. Ms. Fischer is also the Chair of the Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. She serves as the Vice President of Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) Delaware Valley Affiliate, and earlier this year, she was named a 2022 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers® Rising Star in the Technology Transactions category, marking the fourth consecutive year she received this recognition.
